Welcome to Grade 4!
The Grade 4's second last unit of the year has to do with 'heroes'. We will not be studying the kinds of heroes that can leap buildings in a single bound or have x-ray vision, but will instead be examining the lives of real people and how they have changed the world for the better. Grade 4 students will be discovering exactly what makes a hero. Does it have to be someone who is big and strong or can it be just about anyone?
Through examining the biographies of people from all walks of life, children will gain a better understanding of how the attitudes and choices people make are the important ingredients in the making of a hero. Students will also discover how one person really can make a difference and how even small acts can make a big impact on others or the world around them.
The specific details of the Unit of Inquiry, Language and Mathematics objectives are indicated in the documents below.
