Head of Primary School
Steven Thompson
Steven is originally from Belmont, in New South Wales, Australia but spent the majority of his teaching career in the Northern Territory, Australia. His first administration position was as Assistant Principal at St Francis of Assisi School, Humpty Doo. From there he moved to Indonesia where he was Head of School of Sekolah Pelita Harapan - Bukit Sentul a K - 12 boarding school. Here he guided the school to become the first school authorized for all three IB programs. For the last six years he has held the position of Head of Junior School at St. Dominic's International School (the 2nd school authorized for all three IB programs). Steven has had several works published including an article in the IB World Magazine. He is a trained IB consultant, an IB Workshop leader, IB evaluation team leader and trained school visitor for both the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. He also is currently the chairperson of the European Council of International Schools Elementary Administrators' Committee. Steven has a Diploma in Teaching, Bachelor of Education, Graduate Diploma of Arts (Leadership Studies) and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration graduating Summa Cum Lade.
Steven is a real advocate of the IB, his eldest son studied both the MYP and DP and is now studying Law, his second son studied the PYP, MYP and DP and is now studying Biomedicine and his daughter has completed the PYP and MYP and has just begun the DP.
Steven is working hard with all members of the Raha community to guide the school as it begins the next exciting stage of its journey.
