Michael’s journey in education is both rich and diverse. He has served as Secondary Principal at two top-performing IB schools and has been a leader in educational institutions across three continents. His experience as Secondary Head at two ‘Outstanding’ schools in the UAE has honed his expertise in delivering exceptional educational outcomes. Michael’s insights and leadership skills have been recognised globally, marking him as a distinguished figure in the field of education.  

Michael's background as someone who grew up attending schools in Abu Dhabi provides him with a unique perspective on the challenges faced by ‘third culture kids’ and a deep understanding of UAE culture. This understanding is invaluable to our community, as it resonates deeply with our inclusive and diverse ethos. His academic achievements, including a Master’s in Education Leadership and the National Professional Qualification for Headship, further underscore his commitment to educational excellence.  

Michael’s role as a lecturer at the Principals Training Center and his work as a ‘High-Impact Coach’ and ‘Mentor’ for the CFBT Education Trust have demonstrated his ability to guide and inspire educators and leaders in the field. His passion extends beyond the classroom, as evident in his pursuits as a high-altitude mountaineer, demonstrating his dedication and resilience.  

Michael joins Gardens Campus in April 2024 and we look forward to re-evaluating and refreshing our vision and continuing the growth and success of Raha International School.
